First book is printed

In China, the very first book is printed using blocks of wood carved with reverse relief. The carved blocks are dipped in ink and then placed on paper.[1]

Printing press is invented

German goldsmith Johannes Gutenberg is motivated by his desire for the Bible to be more accessible and he invents the printing press.[2]

First children’s book is released

A Little Pretty Pocket-Book, published by John Newbery, is believed to be the first book that was made simply for pleasure reading for children.[3]

First handheld e-reader is released

Rocketbook is created by Martin Eberhard and Mark Tarpenning, two avid readers. It was pitched to Amazon but turned down and then picked up by Barnes & Noble.[4]

हिंदी पखवाड़ा के तहत पुस्तक प्रदर्शनी का आयोजन

केन्द्रीय विद्यालय करीमगंज में हिंदी पुस्तक प्रदर्शनी का आयोजन किया गया।

पुस्तकालय अध्यक्षI ने हिंदी के महत्व को समझाते हुए बच्चों को हिदी पुस्तकों के अध्ययन हेतु प्रेरित किया। साथ ही साथ सभी को प्रत्येक कार्य हिदी में करने हेतु प्रेरित और निर्देशित किया। विद्यालय के सभी शिक्षकों और विद्यार्थियों ने इस पुस्तक प्रदर्शनी का भरपूर लाभ उठाया।

 *21st June* - Painting competition on the theme of 'good habits'

 *24th June* - story telling competition on any Hindi novels/ books.

 *28th June* - Essay writing on the theme of library and it's evolution and development

 *5th July* - spelling Bee

 *7th July* - Book review

 *Play* on reading books or on any novels will be conducted during assembly.

 *Quizzes* will be conducted in each class 

There will be *2 teams* 

Team 1 - 6 to 8

Team 2 - 9 to 12

Prizes will be given for some activities.

Bring your materials from home. Use chart paper or A4 sheet for painting or for other activities.

If you are interested in any activities then participate and encourage other students to participate.
